Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Benjamin Lucien Canonge, III, 51, who passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021.The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 28, 2021.Reverend Mark Lewis will officiate at the Funeral Service and a eulogy will be read by Deacon James Glover. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette. Benjamin was a member of Progressive Baptist Church of Lafayette, under the direction of Pastor Lloyd Joiner, Jr., where he was also a choir member. He worked at Hebert's Supermarket in Henderson for 40 years. He is survived by his mother, Rita Canonge of Breaux Bridge; two sisters, Yolanda Peterman (Spencer) of Katy, TX and Janaia Frazier (Corey) of Katy, TX; brother, Malcolm Joseph of Abbeville; 6 nephews and 2 nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Lucien Canonge, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Benjamin Lucien Canonge, Sr. and Theresa Sims Canonge; adopted maternal grandparents, Wilson and Laura Aubry, Lumanna Aubry Norman, Alfred St. Julien and Olivia St. Julien. Pallbearers will be Spencer Peterman, Jr., Isaiah Peterman, Malcolm Joseph, Ron Mouton, Corey Frazier, and John Richard.Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge, 211 Berard St., Breaux Bridge, LA 70517, (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
