Cecilia - A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Aaron J. Degeyter, 41, who passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021.The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday at 8:00 am until 10:30 am. Bro. Joe Jenkins will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Aaron was a devout Christian and long-time member of Teche Baptist Church. He was an Aviation Painter for PHI for 19 years and then went to work for Bell Helicopter for the last 2 years. Aaron was also a member of Louisiana Jeepers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. The peaceful time he spent in the woods was so meaningful to him. Aaron was very meticulous about his home and his yard, he loved taking time to cut the grass. His family always came first; he cherished his time spent with his son playing baseball and hunting. Aaron supported everything his son did, whether it was athletics or his education. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and uncle, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his dog, Zoey. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Kirby Hebert Degeyter; son, Parker Degeyter; parents, Wilton and Dolores Lasseigne Degeyter; sisters, Tonia Arnaud (Widley) and Naomi Degeyter; nieces, Tayla Degeyter, Kolbie Arnaud and Kenadie Arnaud; great-niece, Irie Boudreaux; great-nephew, Daxx Boudreaux; and mother-in-law, Pam Hebert.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wilson and Genevieve Degeyter; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Mathilde Lasseigne; and nephew, Sean Tyler Degeyter.
