St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a .m., on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Abby Gail Dugas Broussard, 61, who died from complications of Behcets Disease, on Thursday, September 28, 2011 at Iberia Medical Center. Fr. Rusty P. Richard will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Michelle Esnard and Valerie Mayhall. Gift Bearers will be Kylin and Kagon Broussard. Abby was retired from the banking industry where she worked as a secretary for several years and also volunteered with 'Meals on Wheels' for quite some time. Survivors include the father of her children, Albert A. Broussard, Jr.; her son, Jeffrey Miles Broussard and his wife, Monique, of Loreauville; two daughters, Alison Saunier and her husband, Chris, of Loreauville, and Ashlie Boutte and her husband, Chase, of Lafayette; her brother, Gerald Dugas and his wife, Ethel, of Loreauville; two sisters, Christy Maraist and her husband, David, and Vida Lege and her husband, Ronald, all of Lafayette; and two grandchildren, Kylin and Kagon Broussard. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clet J. and Rita LeBlanc Dugas. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday at 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be David Maraist, Ronald Lege, Gerald Dugas, Bryan Lege, David Maraist, Jr., and Toby Dugas. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
