Abel was born in Breaux Bridge in 1945 to Abel Huval Sr. and Noemie Hebert Huval. He grew up with a strong work ethic that he carried with him throughout his entire life. He always made sure to provide for his family even through the most difficult times of life, and he would always have a dollar to put into his grandchildren and great grandchildren's "Poppa Pocket."
One of Abel's biggest joys in life was cooking outside with his family and friends. He would often spend hours on his Kubota tractor, bush hogging the fields, or cutting the grass.
Abel also loved traveling and going on vacation. Whether it was a road trip with friends or to cruise the levee with family, he treasured every moment. He appreciated all of the love his nieces and nephews brought to his life.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Hebert Huval; daughters, Tracy Huval, Brooke Richard (Mathew), and Caprice Huval (Dane); brother, Wesley Hebert (Mary Lou); grandchildren, Breonna Richard (Austin), Jevin Richard (Angelica), Carrington Huval, Zoey Huval and Cooper Huval; great-grandchildren, Mathew Jaime and Orion Richard; godchild, Ty Collette; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Abel Huval, Sr. and Noemie Hebert Huval; son, Ty Mitchell Huval; and his godchildren, Bryant Anthony Hebert and Lisa Faye Hebert.
Pallbearers will be Mathew Richard, Dane Huval, Jevin Richard, Austin Jaime, Neal Hebert, and Jody Hebert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Hebert, Ronald Hebert, Donald Hebert, Jessie Hebert, Jerry Hebert, Leon Hebert, Cooper Huval, and Ty Collette.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Staff of Ochsner St. Martin Hospital and Ochsner Lafayette General ICU.
Abel's love for life and his family will never be forgotten. We can all take comfort in the memories that we have of this wonderful man. He was a true example of what it meant to give more than you take, to love fiercely and unconditionally, and to live life with joy in every moment.
