New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Friday, August 8, 2008, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Addie B. Leger, 94, who passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 in New Iberia. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery No. 2, in Rayne. Rev. Mark Derise will be the Celebrant. Readers will be Laurence Arabie and Datie Cespiva. Gift Bearers include Mrs. Leger's granddaughters, Paula Saravia, Denise Broussard, and Deborah Comeaux. Born on August 15, 1913 in Indian Bayou, Mrs. Leger enjoyed cooking, listening to country music, and spending time with her family. Survivors include her son, Eddie Leger, Jr. and wife Nellie of New Iberia; sister, Pearly LeBlanc of Lafayette; granddaughters, Paula Saravia and husband Gifford, Denise Broussard and husband Kent, Deborah Comeaux and husband Carl all of New Iberia; great grandchildren, Cade Comeaux and fianc Claire Kelly, Jordy Saravia, Dustin Broussard, Dylan Comeaux, Lauren Saravia, Jacob Comeaux, Drake Broussard, and Dominic Broussard; several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Leger, Sr.; grandson, Marcus Leger; parents, Villian and Anna Arabie Boudreaux; brother, Ernest Boudreaux; sisters, Sadie Sonnier, Hilda Hanks, Lelia Lavergne, and Florence Leger. Pallbearers include Dustin Broussard, Dylan Comeaux, Jordy Saravia, Drake Broussard, Jacob Comeaux, Dominic Broussard, and Cade Comeaux. Honorary pallbearers include Charlene Lavergne, Gifford Saravia, Carl Comeaux, and Kent Broussard. Mrs. Leger's family would like to express special gratitude to Dr. George Cousin, and the staff and nurses at LTAC of Iberia Medical Center for the love and special care that was given to Mrs. Leger and her family. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 3:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Thursday.
