Mr. Adley was a native and lifelong resident of Breaux Bridge. He was born on August 18, 1922 to the late Herbert and Ada Dupuis. Mr. Adley was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2398, Exxon Annuitant Club, St. Bernard Catholic Church where he served on the Parish Council for 10 years, and served as an usher. He was a faithful servant of the Perpetual Adoration Chapel and also a member of the Altar Society. Adley enjoyed playing cards, frogging, entertaining family and friends, socializing and telling stories. A river boat captain for Exxon most of his adult life, Mr. Adley enjoyed his time on the river, second only to his faith and his family. Like Ole Man River, Mr. Adley was a constant source of quiet strength and wisdom, whose course was steadfast and flowed humbly and appreciatively through life. The legacy he leaves behind is as rich and generous as the river banks he traveled. The lessons and values he learned from his parents and siblings he proudly passed on to his own family and will live on in his future generations. A true Southern gentleman, Mr. Adley had a deep faith and practiced daily acts of humility and kindness, compassion and courage, and most importantly - love. Love for his faith, his family, his friends, his heritage and his culture. He is survived by his loving spouse of 67 years, Ann Blanchard Dupuis; daughters, Yvonne D.
