New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Monday, January 28, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Agnes Bienvenu Romero, 93, who died Friday, January 25, 2013, in Lafayette. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Bill Gearheard will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 9:00 AM until 1:30 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM Monday. Born on April 11, 1919, Mrs. Romero was the owner and operator of Agnes' Alteration Shop in Lafayette for many years. She enjoyed her pets, gardening, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Romero Babineaux and husband Stephen of New Iberia; sons, Robert Romero and wife Dot of New Iberia, David Romero of New Iberia; seven grandchildren, Melinda Babineaux Breaux and husband Randy, Stephen 'Tookie' Babineaux, II, Whitney 'Buddy' Babineaux, Wendy Romero Segura, Robbie Romero, Connie Romero, Davey Romero; eleven great grandchildren, Morgan Breaux, Amanda Babineaux Duplantis, Abigail Babineaux, Jacob Segura, Jed Segura, John Segura, Jordan Romero, Riley Romero, Aidan Romero, Dustin Romero, Gauge Romero; and one great great granddaughter, Ali Duplantis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur John 'Soup' Romero; parents, Ursin and Ella Muhlerin Bienvenu; sister, Helen Bienvenu; brothers, Louis Bienvenu, Francis Bienvenu, and Robert Bienvenu. Pallbearers will be Stephen Babineaux, II, Whitney Babineaux, Randy Breaux, Robert Romero, David Romero, and Grant Bienvenu.
