Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2007, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, in Breaux Bridge, for Alaija Danay Pierre, 2, who died on Friday, October 26, 2007 at her residence, in Breaux Bridge. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2, in Breaux Bridge. Fr. James Fallon, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral service. Alaija loved to eat, dance, sing and model clothes. ?She was full of energy that made everyone smile. Survivors include her father, Othello Pierre, of St. Martinville; her mother, Narra Batiste, of Breaux Bridge; her grandfather, Narry Alexander, of Breaux Bridge; her grandmother, Florina Pierre, of St. Martinville; two brothers, Tylen Pierre and Dylan Batiste; and one sister, Donashia Adair, all of Breaux Bridge. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Brenda Batiste and Rickey Pierre; her aunt, Ciara Batiste; and her first cousin, Sasha Pierre. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
