Albert Hutchinson

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Albert Hutchinson, 87, who passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015, in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette. Msgr. Richard Greene will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM led by the Men's Rosary Group. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM. A native of Duson and a longtime area resident, Mr. Hutchinson was born on July 16, 1928 to James Hutchinson, Sr. and Eve Romero Hutchinson. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years, including a tour during World War II. Afterwards, he then worked at USL, now the University of Louisiana Lafayette, for 24 years, retiring as the manager of the Sheet Metal Department. Mr. Hutchinson was a member of the New Iberia VFW Post 1982, American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and Woodmen of the World. He also served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Hungerford Hutchinson of New Iberia; sons, Chris Hutchinson, Randy Hutchinson, and Mike Hutchinson all of Georgia; daughters, Karen Wood of Dallas, Texas, Lisa Clements of Covington; stepson and caregiver, Doug Waldmann; numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 11 silblings, Helen Cox, Grace Hutchinson, Nolan Hutchinson, Florence Hutchinson, Edward Hutchinson, Harry "Bud" Hutchinson, Frances Broussard, Elrene Baptiste, Margie Hutchinson, James Hutchinson, and Sidney Hutchinson. Pallbearers will be Doug Waldmann, Cody Waldmann, Keith Waldmann, Blake Waldmann, Hank Waldmann, and Pat Breaux. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Hall Renovation Project, 2514 Old Jeanerette Road, New Iberia, LA 70563.
