Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Albert Knott, 82, who passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until 9:45 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday. Fr. Garrett Savoie will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Mausoleum in Arnaudville. Albert was born in Arnaudville, Louisiana to the late Clayus and Azama Pontiff Knott. He worked as a boat captain for 55 years before retiring at the age of 75. Albert loved his children and grandchild, but he had a special love for his great grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving daughter, Loretta Brown; his grandchild, Raven Robicheaux; his great grandchildren, Braedyn Latiolais, and Isabella and Laik Castillo; and his sister, Lillie Melancon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Joyce Cormier Knott; his son, Joey Knott; his parents, Clayus and Azama Pontiff Knott; and his brother, James Knott.
