Alberta Borel

Lydia Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at The Pentecostals of Lydia Church in Lydia, for Alberta Olander Borel, 77, who died on Thursday, November 20, 2014 in New Iberia. Interment will follow in the Louisa Cemetery. Rev. Ron Perkins will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, in New Iberia. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 10:15 AM. A native of Weeks Island, Mrs. Borel was born on May 16, 1937 to Andrew Olander, Sr. and Frances Olander. She worked at the Jeanerette Mills for several years, and she enjoyed cooking, gardening, working with fishing line, and spending time with her family. Survivors include her children, Cheryl Borel of New Iberia, Anita Leet of Cypremort Point, Brent Borel and wife Patsy of New Iberia, Connie Buteaux of Lafayette; step daughters, Vivian Doty of Kenner, Ferry Mae Hebert of Lydia, Daisy Simar of Lydia, Audrey Olander of Jeanerette, Lucille Migues of Lydia; sisters, Dorothy Romero of Erath, Rita Simon of Pasadena, Texas; brother, Edward Olander and wife Mary of Cypremort Point; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Borel; brothers, Sylvester Olander, Andrew Olander, Jr., Steve Olander, Leo Olander; sisters, Elnora Hartman, Helen Roy, and Elizabeth Rawlins. Pallbearers will be Greggory Frederick, Ryan Frederick, Brett BJ Frederick, Theaux Schouest, Ryan Corcoran, and Lance Leleux. Honorary pallbearers include Brent Borel, Jeffery Leet, Dylan Schouest, Daton Trahan, and Hunter Schouest.
