Alberta Laviolette

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, on January 14, 2013, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Alberta Sonnier Laviolette, 76, who passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013 at her residence. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 12 noon until 10 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 7 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Readers will be Allison David and Nicole Doiron. Gift Bearers will be Chelsi Martin, Denise Trotti, Ashley Smith and Shantel Romero. Alberta enjoyed playing Bingo and Pokeno. Her favorite holiday was July 4th, because of all the celebrations and July 4th was her birthday. She especially loved family gatherings. She is survived by her sons, Van Laviolette and his wife, Kerrie of New Iberia, and Robert Laviolette and his wife, Lisa Ann of St. Martinville; her daughters, Debbie David and her husband, Bill of St. Martinville, Tammy Baudoin and her husband, Michael of Broussard, and Lisa Martin and her husband, Keith of New Iberia; her brother, John Sonnier of Loreauville; her 13 grandchildren; and her 9 great grandchildren, She is preceded in death by her husband, Ludger Laviolette; her parents, Omezene and Celine Picard Sonnier; her daughter, Diana Laviolette; her brother, Joseph Sonnier; and her sisters, Marie ;Hebert and Rita Douet. Pallbearers will be Van Laviolette, Robert Laviolette, Robbie Laviolette, Bill David, Steven David, Michael Baudoin, Keith Martin, and Jeremy Riegger.
