Alcee Pierre Dupuis, age 80, died on Friday, August 14, 2020 in Pelican Pointe, a caring and loving community in Maurice, Louisiana. He was born on April 3, 1940 in Nina, a small community near Breaux Bridge, Louisiana to Alcee Pierre Dupuis, Sr. and Modeste Derousselle Dupuis. He was the loving brother of Marie June Ellen Dupuis Duhon Chaisson. AP attended Cecilia and St. Bernard Catholic School, where he became proficient in playing the trumpet. After high school, he attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana, where he became an active member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity and became known to his Frat brothers as “Whip”. He graduated from USL with a Bachelors in Accounting. And from there earned his Certification in Public Accounting. He held positions with Firestone and retired as Comptroller at the Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. In 1970, Al (as he was known in the business world) married the love of his life, Barbara Jean Thompson. AP welcomed his wife and his new step-son, Scott Charles Dacey, into his newly formed family. Soon after, Ross Charles and Becky Lynn were born to them. Al and Barbara moved their family to Gulf Breeze, Florida after his retirement. He was passionate about his Cajun culture and golf. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 46 years, his daughter, and his sister. He is survived by his son, Ross, his step-son, Scott (Jennifer) and their daughter and son, and his nieces and nephews. Pellerin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family is planning a tribute at a later date.
