Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m., on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge, for Alcee "Soe" Dumatrait, 80, who passed away on Monday, April 20, 2009 at St. Agnes Healthcare and Rehab in Breaux Bridge.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Father Allen Breaux will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be J. C. Dugas and Mary D. Ketelers. Gift bearers will be Linda LeBlanc and Jim Dugas.
"Soe," as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, was a resident at St. Agnes Healthcare and Rehab and enjoyed all the activities and outings there. Attending family gatherings and spending time with his family and friends brought great joy into his life. He brought many people together with just a smile.
Survivors include two brothers, Edwin Dumatrait, Sr. and Clifton Dumatrait, both of Breaux Bridge; one sister, Enola Usie, of Henderson; and his caretakers, Linda LeBlanc, J. C. Dugas, Mary D. Ketelers, and Jim Dugas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay J. and Ezola Thomassee Dugas; six brothers, Tony, Lloyd and Percy Dumatrait, and Gussie, Joseph, and Orel Hebert; and four sisters, Vivian D. Huval, Lena D. Cormier, May D. Dugas, and Marie Alzina H. Bergeron.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday and continue at 7 a.m. until 12 noon on Tuesday.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Monday evening.
Pallbearers will be J. C. Dugas, Calvin "Jim" Dugas, Eddie Dumatrait, Bobby Dumatrait, Timmy Dumatrait, Sr., and Tim Dumatrait, Jr.
