Breaux Bridge - A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Alena Blanchard Belaire, 90, who passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home.
Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Alena was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks. She was known to be an amazing cook and seamstress, which she passed on to her children. Alena loved crafts and sewing, but most importantly, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Melancon (Curlis), Lorraine Reardon (Jim) and Lisa Daigle (Verby); brother, Leon Blanchard (Rose); sister, Ozia Theriot (Clarence); grandchildren, Lori Theriot (Todd), Tina Shuptrine (Michael), Kim Melancon (Lynette), Wendy DeRouen, Iris Fleming (Scott), Stephanie Boudreaux (Jared) and Bryan Daigle (Amber); 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Seville Belaire, Jr.; son, Irvin Belaire; parents, Alena Robert Blanchard and Paulin Blanchard, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Eugene "T-Mom" Blanchard; sisters, Noelie Guidry, Eunice LeBlanc, Marie Landry, Solange Blanchard and Elise Blanchard; and brothers, Robert Blanchard, Abel Blanchard, Drozin Blanchard, Leo Blanchard, Paulin Blanchard, Jr. and Allen Blanchard.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Daigle, Verby Daigle, Christopher Duplechaine, Kim Melancon and Jared Boudreaux.
