New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Alfred Gautreaux, 84, who passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Mr. Gautreaux was born on April 1, 1931 to Octave and Jeane Sadie Delhomme Gautreaux and was a lifelong resident of New Iberia. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was employed at David Funeral Home for 27 years. He was a member of the New Iberia VFW Post 1982, the American Legion, and was a volunteer driver for the VA Hospital. Survivors include his son, Marty Gautreaux of New Iberia; grandchildren, Shandie Gautreaux of Breaux Bridge, Kasie Gautreaux of Atlanta, GA, Gaven Gautreaux of Lafayette, Jacob Gautreaux of New Iberia, Justin Gautreaux of New Iberia; great grandchildren, Shelby Benson, Hallie Benson; sister, Anna Marie Alleman of Lafayette; brother, Larry St. Amand of Lafayette. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Eunice Gautreaux; sister, Evelyn Hebert; brothers, Richard St. Amand, and Emile St. Amand. Pallbearers will be Dennis Alleman, Claude Vice Jr., O'Neal Bonin, David Hebert, Richard Bonin, Jacob Gautreaux, Justin Gautreaux, and Jimmy Bonin. Honorary pallbearers include Gaven Gautreaux, Jimmy Estelle, Richard Wilberger, and Richard Sonnier.
