Interment will be immediately following the Mass at Memorial Park Cemetery, 402 W. Admiral Doyle Drive in New Iberia. It is an understatement to say that he was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend. He loved children and relished being with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and, of course, all their friends. His dedication to his Catholic faith was evident in how he lived his life. He attributed who he was to the Christian Brothers who taught him at St. Peters College. He loved to teach and he was always teaching his children and their friends. He did not care for the word avid but he was religious about Tulane and scrabble. He was the youngest of six children and preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Paul Anthony Dick Landry, Jr., Jacob Segura Landry, John Courtney Landry, Emma Joan Landry Broussard and Eleanor Landry Holleman. He graduated from St. Peters college, then attended Southwest Louisiana Institute (SLI) for 4 semesters and on to The US Merchant Marine Academy, where he received a degree in Marine Transportation. He then went to sea on a passenger/banana ship, the Antigua. His mother did not like the idea of her son being on a banana boat so she enrolled him in Tulane Law School in 1947 where he graduated as a member of the Class of 1950. He was then commissioned in the Navy and aboard the USS Helena during the Korean War. He started practicing law in New Iberia in 1950 with his brother Jacob, Jack Cousin and Guyton Watkins at Landry, Watkins, Cousin and Landry He continued to practice until January, 2018. He was president of the Chamber of Commerce and was awarded the Outstanding Young Man award. He was president of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. He was a member of the Louisiana State Bar and Iberia Parish Bar Association. He was a Fellow of the College of American Trial Lawyers and received the Inns on The Teche Professionalism Award. He was married to Adrianne Mouton Dianne Landry for 66 years until her death in April, 2018. On the day they were married he told her he wanted to have 10 children so they had 11. Till the day he died he was their teacher and advisor but most of all a loving Papa. He loved to have a child in his arms or on his knee. He was Papa to not only his immediate family but to many others. Whenever misbehaving children were told by Mama to wait til your Papa gets home, the children were elated because they knew Papa was too gentle to punish them. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Anthony and Emma Segura Landry, his brothers, Dick and Jacob Landry, his sisters Emma Joan Broussard and Eleanor Holleman, his son, Peter Alexander Landry and his daughter, Louise Landry Hill. He is survived by his children: Adrianne L. Baumgartner (Robert), Amelie L. Bower (Michael), Alfred S. Landry, Jr. (Laura), Edward P. Landry (Candi), Dianne L. Kirsch, C.
