Alfred Frederick Paschal

Hurst, Texas - A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst, Texas, for Alfred Frederick Paschal, 82, who passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017, in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Alfred was a lifelong Lutheran and a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst, Texas. He was an All-American shortstop at Texas Christian University (TCU) and holds the Southwest Conference baseball record. Alfred was drafted from TCU by the Detroit Tigers and played AAA minor league baseball for several years. He was inducted into the TCU Sports Hall of Fame for baseball. As a pastime, he enjoyed playing golf. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Johnson Paschal; his sons, Scott Owen Paschal, M.D. and wife, Gina, of Dallas, Texas, and John Christopher Paschal and wife, Syboney Zapata M.D., of Austin, Texas; his daughters, Linda Paschal Filler and husband, Rick, of North Field, Illinois, and Laura Paschal Troup and husband, Gordan, of Dublin, Ohio; and his grandchildren, Meredith Marie Hefner, Ben Paschal, Sam Paschal, Claire Paschal, Kaitlin Troup, and Kelsey Troup. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Gotlied Paschal, and his mother, Lorena Morris Paschal.
