Alfred Scrantz

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia, for Alfred Scrantz, 90, who passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Rev. Louis Allen Breaux will conduct the services. Alfred owned Scrantz Grocery Store in Grand Anse for 20 years. He was a crawfish farmer for most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and whittling wood. Survivors include one son, Leonard Scrantz and his wife, Sherry of Breaux Bridge; four grandchildren, Ronald Scrantz, Jr., Guy Scrantz, Brandy Quebedeaux, and Courtney LeBlanc; eleven great grandchildren, Hailey, Abby, Madison, Krista, Karlee, River and Gannon Scrantz, Ian, Cole and Gabby Quebedeaux and Marley LeBlanc; one great-great grandchild, Breanna Scrantz; and one brother, Joseph Scrantz and his wife, Earlie of Cecilia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Eugenie Hebert Scrantz; his wife, Florence Guidry Scrantz; his son Ronald Scrantz, Sr.; his great granddaughter, Kylie Scrantz; his brothers, Onezeme Scrantz, Theophile Scrantz and Evariste Scrantz; his sisters, Lucille Berard, Felicine Berard, Theolene Roberts and Florence Dupuis. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 8:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Leonard Scrantz, Ronald "Buddy" Scrantz, Jr., Scott Quebedeaux, Corey LeBlanc, Ian Quebedeaux and Neal Kennison. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cole Quebedeaux and Guy Scrantz. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
