Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Alice Jean Augustine, 66, who passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at her residence. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Saturday. Rev. Ugochukwu Jerome Cletus, SSJ will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will read by Anna Marie Huval and Madesyn Cormier. Gift Bearers will be Dustin Witchet and Demontre Tuggle. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Alice was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and caregiver. She lovingly cared for many families in the surrounding area for many years and was like family to them. As a pastime, Alice loved going to thrift shops and was always looking for a bargain to be found, she also enjoyed cooking and talking on the phone with her sisters. Alice’s devotion and faith in God was unwavering; while working, she was always listening to gospel music and her prayer line on her phone. Alice will be fondly remembered for the love she had for everyone and all the help she gave to each person that she cared for in her lifetime. She is survived by her loving husband, Doris Augustine; son, Boris Cormier and wife Quentille; daughter, Elaine Posey and husband, Roland; 10 grandchildren; brother, Francis Derouselle; and her sisters, Eula Mae Semere, Mary Joyce Alexander and her husband William, Lorena Noel and her husband Linton, JoAnn Derouselle, and Susie Derouselle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Antoine and Mary Celestine Derouselle; her sons, Sedrick Cormier and Andre Cormier; and her sister, Patricia Derouselle.
