Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 1, 2019, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Alice Chavis, 99, who passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019, at St. Agnes Healthcare & Rehab Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery. Alice enjoyed going shopping, playing bingo, gardening, traveling, and visiting with family. She will be fondly remembered for the wonderful meals she cooked for her family and how well she kept her home maintained. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Fontenette of Los Angeles, CA, Renella Chavis of Los Angeles, CA, and Susan Chavis of Breaux Bridge, LA; sons, Warren Chavis, Sr. and Clarence Chavis, Jr. and wife Brenda, all of Breaux Bridge; sister, Mary Davis of Breaux Bridge; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Chavis, Sr.; parents, Lawrence Demouchet, Sr. and Celestine Lewis Demouchet; daughter, Katherine Chavis; brothers, Lawrence Demouchet, Joseph Demouchet, Lazria Demouchet, Sidney Demouchet, Renee Demouchet, and Jules Castille; and sister, Stella Demouchet.
