Alice Maturin Dore

Coteau - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:30 PM on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau, for Alice Maturin Dore, 88, who passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016, in Coteau. A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 8:00 AM until 2:30 PM on Thursday. A rosary will be prayed at 2:30 PM. Rev. Brian Harrington will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Alice Maturin Dore' was born in Lafayette, LA on April 29, 1928 to the late Gilbert and Anaise Gary Maturin. She was a longtime resident of the Coteau area, and a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, shopping with Stella, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed. Mrs. Dore is survived by a son, Donald J. Dore', Sr; granddaughter, Pam Dore' Hebert and husband Brian; grandson, Jesse J. Dore' and wife Jennifer; sister, Althea Gaspard and husband Lovelace, all of Coteau; eight great-grandchildren, Chris Phillips, Joshua Hebert, Hailey Hebert and finace' Joshua Breaux, Megan Hebert, Brittany Hebert, Adragon Briley, Eden Dore', and Evening Dore; two great-great grandchildren, Miley Hebert and Jaylen Breaux; and two godchildren, Mickey Gaspard, and Wilton Gary, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexson Dore', daughter-in-law, Stella Dore', three grandsons, Donald, Jr., Keith, and Clint Dore', two brothers, Anatole and Jules Maturin; and two sisters, Edna Touchet, and Rita Migues. Pallbearers will be Joshua Hebert, Todd Landry, Mickey Gaspard, Brandon Gaspard, Joshua Breaux, and Elvis Derise. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Gaspard and Dallas Hebert.
