BreauxBridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Alice Melancon Frederick, 84, who passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013 at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday, and continue on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Tuesday by Sr. Ameline Theriot. Fr. Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Nell Boudreaux and Lori Gaudin. Gift Bearers will be Shelby Frederick and Brandi Fontenot. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge. Mrs. Frederick enjoyed gardening, listening and dancing to Cajun music and she loved babysitting children, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Hayward and wife, Cricket Guidry Frederick; two daughters, Judy Gaudin and husband, Willie, and Jackie Thibodeaux and husband, Mike L.; two brothers, Joseph and Antoine Melancon; six grandchildren, Brandon Gaudin and wife, Lori, Shane Gaudin and wife, Kacey, Brandi Fontenot and husband, Josh, Brodie Thibodeaux and fiance, Erica, Shelby Frederick, and Christian Frederick; and three great grandchildren, Seth Gaudin, Sophia Thibodeaux, and Peyton Fontenot. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Frederick; her mother, Carisse Champagne; her father, Rene Melancon; five brothers, Elie, Albert, Maurice, Amos, and Lawrence Melancon; and four sisters, Rita Toucheck, Josephine Latiolais, Theresa LeBlanc, and Lita Toucheck. Pallbearers will be Brodie Thibodeaux, Shane Gaudin, Josh Fontenot, Christian Frederick, Brandon Gaudin, and Larry Melancon. Pellerin Funeral Homeof BreauxBridge is in charge of arrangements.
