Alice C. Melancon

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Alice C. Melancon, 86, who passed away at her home on Saturday, January 28, 2023.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
 
A rosary will be prayed by Rev. Gregory Cormier at 12:00 PM.

Rev. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the funeral Mass.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Alice was born on March 14, 1936, in St. Martin Parish. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Alice greatly admired God and her Catholic faith and prayed the rosary daily. Her favorite hobbies included crafting, fishing, being outdoors, gardening, and cooking, but most importantly gathering with her family. She treasured having everyone over, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alice will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Alton Melancon; sons, Jessie Joseph Melancon (Deb), Mike James Melancon (Lisa), and Wilbert Paul Melancon; daughters, Leanna M. Giarratano (Donnie) and Mary M. Taylor (John); grandchildren, Tonya (Travis), Jay (Carmen), Michael, Jr., Hunter (Harley), Christina (Jay), Fabien (Dana), Bryan (Cassandra), Erik, Tammy, Joshua (Jennifer), John Jr. (Crystal), Andy (Angel), and Lyle (Maria); and numerous great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by parents, John and Louisa Willingham Credeur; son, Charles Ray Melancon; grandchildren, Angelia and Andrew; loving parents who raised her, Jules and Josephine Savoy; sister, Georgia Hebert; stepsister, Rosa Belle Lalonde; and brothers, Harry Credeur and Curley Credeur.

Pallbearers will be John Jr., Andy, Lyle, Josh, Hunter, and Devin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Fabien, Erik and Bryan.
