Alicia was born in New Iberia, Louisiana on May 3, 1964, and was a 1982 graduate of St. Martinville Senior High. She started working when her girls were school age, beginning her career at Martin Mills. She decided to make a change and pursue a new path as a bookkeeper. She worked at Albertsons for over 30 years, ultimately concluding her career with the Iberia Parish School Board for over a decade. Throughout her career, Alicia formed lasting friendships and made a significant impact on her coworkers. Her dedication and strong work ethic were truly commendable.

Alicia was deeply involved in her local church community, dedicating over 30 years to teaching religion through the Diocesan CCD program. She also served as a lector, eucharistic minister, and participated in Adoration. She was an active member of Come Lord Jesus, the Ladies Altar Society, and a former leader of the Youth Group. Outside of her church volunteer work, Alicia had a range of other passions. She was a regular blood donor and a skilled seamstress, known in the community for her alterations. She also devoted a great deal of time to supporting her daughters' activities, including serving as a Troop Leader for several years in their Girl Scout group, leading 4-H sewing classes, as well as cherishing time spent with her grandchildren.

Alicia spent 40 wonderful years with her soulmate, Mickey (April 2025). Together, they created a beautiful family with three daughters. Becoming a grandmother was a role she cherished deeply. She was a strong woman who fought cancer with unwavering determination, and she passed away peacefully, knowing she had given everything she had.

Survivors include her husband, Mickey Poirier, father, Ulysses “Las” Lasseigne, Sr.; three daughters, Bethany Jones (Luke), Kristina Bernard (Kyle), Adrienne Poirier (companion Gabriel Benton); brother, Ulysses “Joey” Lasseigne, Jr. (Jenny); sisters, Alyson Evans (Glenn), Amelia Lasseigne (companion Andre’ Herpin); stepbrothers; Orsen Daigle Jr. (Gina), Richard Daigle (companion, Angie Bernard); stepsister Bonita Mestayer (Chris); grandchildren: Madeleine, Anastasia, and Genevieve Jones, Lincoln and Maeve Bernard, and Baby Bernard expected this summer.
