Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 23, 2020, at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge for Allen "Lano" Boyd, Jr., 80, who passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at his residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:30 am until 11:00 am on Saturday.
Pastor Rob Burdeaux will officiate at the Funeral Service.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Allen worked as a carpenter for most of his working life. He loved spending time outdoors, gardening, fishing, and hunting. Allen also enjoyed watching the Saints. Most of all, he loved joking around and spending time with his family. Allen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 60 years, Mary Champagne Boyd; sons, Gary Boyd and wife Lisa and Craig Boyd and wife Sarah; daughters, Sheila Boyd, Rebecca Williams, Danielle Dalcourt and husband Leo and Melanie Johnson and husband Jamar; brothers, Joseph Boyd and Peter Boyd and wife Virginia; sisters, Hilda Boyd, Rita Boyd and Mildred Boyd; grandchildren, Daja, Gary Jr., Kayla, Dylan, Trey, Kiara, Amber, Keith, Aaron, Chazz, Geoffrey, Jamar "Andrew", Laila, Brooklyn, Miya, Nyla and Riley; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Nancy Boyd and Rachael Boyd; father, Mitchell Allen Boyd; mother, Edmira St. Julien Boyd; and siblings, Alton Boyd, Octavia Boyd and Harrison Boyd.
Pallbearers will be Trey Boyd, Jamar "Andrew" Johnson, II, Keith Williams, Chazz Boyd, Geoffrey Glover, and Kayla Williams.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Boyd, Craig Boyd, Joseph Boyd, and Peter Boyd.
