New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 29, 2007, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Allen Anthony David, 74, of New Iberia, who died Thursday, October 25, 2007, at his residence.
Rev. Mike Arnaud will be the Celebrant. Readers are Renee' Harrison and Brain David. Gift Bearers include Amy Doucet and Benjamin Boudreaux.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. David is retired from Homco Oilfield Service with over 30 years of service. He enjoyed football, golf, music and playing his guitar. A friend to everyone, he loved to laugh and tell jokes. Mr. David will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Janell Romero David of New Iberia; sons, Brian David and wife Lisa of Lafayette, Gregory David and companion Yvette Hebert of New Iberia; daughters, Renee' David Harrison and husband Kirk of Lafayette, Ellen David Boudreaux and husband Rick of Broussard; sisters, Betty Bulliard and husband Dickie of St. Martinville, Carrie Collins of New Iberia; grandchildren, Amy Doucet, Shannon Erhmann, Ashley Corte, Andre' Harrison, Benjamin Boudreaux, Lance Boudreaux, Nicole David, Lindsay David, Hunter David, Jamie David; great grandchildren, Michael Erhmann, Landon Pike, Lexie Pike, and Conner Corte.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete "T-Beb" and Esther Dugas David.
A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be at 7:00 PM Sunday. Visitation will continue Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
The family would like to express special appreciation to Hospice of Acadiana, especially Jo Doucet, and the doctors and nursing staff of Lafayette General Hospital for their extraordinary care and compassion during the last weeks of Mr. David's life.
Pallbearers will be Brian David, Greg David, Kirk Harrison, Rick Boudreaux, Ben Boudreaux, Lance Boudreaux, Hunter David, and Andre' Harrison.
Honorary pallbearers are Gabriel Hebert, Reving Broussard, Jr., his brothers-in-law, Denis Romero, Ossie Romero, Jr., and Dean Romero.
