Allen J. Guidry

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Allen J. Guidry, 80, who passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015, at St. Landry Extended Care. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at 2 pm on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 and continue until 1:45 pm on Wednesday. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Fr. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Molly Guidry and Kaitlin Viator. Gift Bearers will be Kaitlin Viator, Heidi Robin, Andrea Phillips, Hilary Guidry, Holly Guidry, Molly Guidry, Amber Frederick, and Cale Hyatt. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Allen worked offshore as a Dredge Boat Tender for over 40 years. He enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He also loved having his brother and son lunches once a month. He loved sports, especially baseball, and was a devoted St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan. He enjoyed playing Bourre and Horseshoes on holidays. He is survived by his loving children, Jesse Guidry and wife Sophie, Carl Guidry and wife Loyce, Sandy Stelly and husband Andrew, Barbara Guidry and husband Larry, and Kathy Thibodeaux and husband James; brothers, Nolan Guidry and wife LouAnna, Leland Guidry and wife Flo, Newton Guidry and wife Cynthia, and Harris Guidry; sister, Dorita "Bea" Chambless; his grandchildren, Heidi Robin, Andrea Phillips, Joshua Guidry, Holly Guidry, Molly Guidry, Hilary Guidry, Amber Frederick, Lance Viator, Kaitlin Viator, Lauren Thibodeaux, and Chris Thibodeaux; and his great-grandchildren, Liam Robin, Noah Phillips, Calee Hyatt, Jettson Guidry, and baby Clay Gullo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Cormier Guidry; his parents, Ophey and Bertha Duplechin Guidry; his daughter, Renella Frederick; a grandson, Seth Guidry; his brother, Alton Guidry; and his sisters, Bernice Arnaud, Ivy Carriere, and Paola Huval. Pallbearers will be Jesse Guidry, Joshua Guidry, Lance Viator, Chris Phillips, Larry Guidry, and Chris Robin. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Guidry, Andrew Stelly, James Thibodeaux, Philip Frederick, Jr., Liam Robin, Noah Phillips, Jettson Guidry, Nolan Guidry, Leland Guidry, Newton Guidry, Harris Guidry, and baby Clay Gullo.
