Broussard - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Broussard, for Allen Hebert, 86, who passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Broussard. Rev. Lambert A.Lein, SVD. , Pastor of St. Joseph Church, will conduct the services. Mr. Hebert served in the U.S. Navy as a 3rd Class Seaman in World War II. He fought in the battle of Iwo Jima. Survivors include his son, Brian Hebert of Maryland; his daughter, Margo Robinson; his brother, Ducrest Hebert, Jr. of Broussard, LA and his wife, Delores of Arlington, TX; his sister, Florence Jacquet and her husband, Albert of Cade, LA; his 3 granddaughters, Rosaline, Danelle and Michelle; his grandson, Andrew; his great grandson, Jay and his god-daughter, Ella Rogers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beaulah and Ducrest Hebert, Sr.; his wife, Ella Hebert; his brothers, Harold, Joseph and Clarence; and his sisters, Doris, Dortha, and Rosemary. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the church from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. Honorary Pallbearers will be Glenn Hebert, Brian McCadney, Albert Jacquet, Kenneth Jacquet, Ricky Eteinne, Danny Flugence, John Norbert, Harold Johnson, Morris St. Julien, Woody Davis, Aaron Breaux, Leon Decou, and Godfarey Robertson. Pellerin Funeral Home (337.332.2111) is in charge of arrangements.
