Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Allen Jean Teboug Lanerie, 93, who passed away on Monday, February 1, 2010 at his residence.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum in Cecilia.
Fr. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. His great grandchildren will serve as Gift Bearers.
Mr. Lanerie was retired as a lab technician with the sugar co-op. He enjoyed horse racing, farming and gardening and was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps for many years.
Married to the love of his life, Margie, for 66 years, Teboug was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who was solely dedicated to providing for his family.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Margie Thibodeaux Lanerie, of Cecilia; two sons, Rick Lanerie and his wife, Elaine, and Gerald Boz Lanerie and his wife, Monique, all of Breaux Bridge; four grandchildren, Mickey Lanerie, Dena Stanfield, Corie Lanerie, and Rene Guidry; and six great grandchildren, Shawna and Blake Guidry, Kaci, Kristen, and Presli Lanerie, and Daylin Stanfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amilcar and Louta Guidry Lanerie; two sisters, Ruth Locke and Evelyn Blanchard; and a grandson, Parrish Jude Lanerie.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 7 a.m. on Wednesday until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Lanerie, Corie Lanerie, David Stanfield, Shawn Guidry, John Allen Locke, and Mike Blanchard.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
