Allen John Laperouse

December 10, 1931 — October 5, 2009

Catahoula - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula, for Allen John Laperouse, 77, who passed away on Monday, October 5, 2009 at Louisiana Extended Care Hospital in Lafayette. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. Fr. Fabre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Josie Dugas and Gayle Boudreaux. Mr. Laperouse was a farmer and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting. In his spare time he enjoyed going to the casinos, watching football and basketball, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Patsy Borel Laperouse, of Catahoula; two sons, Lynn Laperouse and his wife, Wanda, and Brad Laperouse and his wife, Crystal, all of Catahoula; two grandchildren, Kyler Laperouse and Brin Laperouse; one sister, Hazel Comeaux and her husband, Larry, Sr., of St. Martinville; his mother-in-law, Essie Barras, of Catahoula; and two sisters-in-law, Rita Barras and Sylvia Borel, both of Catahoula. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexson and Ella Barras Laperouse; two sisters, Lorita Dugas and Lena Latiolais; and his brother-in-law, Perry Borel. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula from 12 noon on Tuesday and continue until 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Pallbearers will be Brad Laperouse, Lynn Laperouse, Dean Borel, Ricky Dugas, Larry Comeaux, Jr., Kyle Latiolais, Ricky Barras, and Corey Barras. Pellerin Funeral Home, 337.332.2111, is in charge of arrangements.
