Allen Joseph Smith

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, September 21, 2007, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Allen Joseph Smith, 86, who passed away on Friday, September 14, 2007 at his residence in St. Martinville. Entombment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville. Fr. Tarsisius Puling SVD will conduct the services. He will be greatly missed by his daughters, granddaughters, and great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends. Survivors include his daughters, Patricia Smith Green and her husband, Benjamin of Miami, FL, Jacqueline Smith Bourda and her husband, Christopher of St. Martinville, and Ursula Smith Guillory and her husband, Hillis of Sacramento, CA; his grandchildren, Rachia, Yoshika and Sherria Green, Sentowskia Thomas and Nefeteria Bourda and his great grandchildren, Willie, Jr., Christopher, and Bytheah Thomas and Nericia Bourda. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta Thomas Smith; his parents, William and Alfreda Andrews Smith; his brothers, Morris, George, Clarence, Willie and Lawrence Smith; his sisters, Octavia Pitts, Mary Ball and Bertha Green. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2007 and continue at 8:00 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2007, until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
