Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Alma Marie Alexander, 86, who passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at St. Agnes Nursing Home.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Tuesday from 8:00 am until 10:00 am.
A Rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Tuesday morning.
Rev. George Bede Ajuruchi, SSJ will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.
Alma was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She found great joy in cooking, baking and going to the casino. Above all, Alma loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her kind-hearted, caring and giving spirit and she never let anyone go hungry. Alma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Alexander (Wilbert) and Rachel Alexander; son, Ricky Alexander (Linda); sisters, Eula Mouton (James) and Prenella Alexander; grandchildren, Monica Alexander, Jackson Alexander, Havland Alexander, Wesley Mouton, Harry Thompson, Kendrick Thompson and Spencer Thompason. And a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her grandchildren, Ricky Demouchet, Lacie Alexander, Jaleesa Narcisse and Jeremy Charles; parents, Dalton Alexander Sr., and Edith Davis Alexander; brothers, Lester Alexander, Albert Alexander and Dalton Alexander Jr.; and sisters, Hazel Thibodeaux, Louvenia Gray, Florence Williams and Gladys Alexander,
Pallbearers will be Wilbert Narcisse, Jackson Alexander, Wesley Mouton, Spencer Thompson, Kendrick Thompson and Harry Thompson.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the St. Agnes Nursing Home staff, Ochsner St. Martin Hospital, as well as the staff of Hope Hospice for the care and compassion they provided.
