Alma Moreau Calais

Cecilia- A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Crossroads Church, 150 Verona Dr., Lafayette, LA 70507, for Alma Ann Calais, 78, who passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at her residence.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Crossroads Church, 150 Verona Dr, Lafayette, LA 70507. 

Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.

Alma was born October 21, 1943, in Leonville. She was devoted Elementary Teacher for St. Martin Parish School Board for many years. Alma loved shopping, going to the beach and spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her sisters, Rita Pontiff and Thelma Huval; nieces and nephews, Christene Olivier (AJ), Doreen Hollier (Chris), Chantelle Cormier, Luke Pontiff, Jr. (Della), Rusty Pontiff (Danielle), Kelly Bergeron (Corey), Casey Moreau (Lisa), Scott Huval (Melissa), Scotty Huval (Diane), Scarlett Guidry (Kevin), Steve Hebert (Bonnie), and Cleo Breaux (Kenny); and her sisters-in-law, Katherine Moreau and Gwen Guidry (Caroll).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Calais; father, Lanny Moreau, Sr.; mother, Inez Bergeron Moreau; brother, Lanny Moreau, Jr.; and niece, June LeBlanc.

Pallbearers will be Casey Joseph Moreau, Benjamin Marshall Guidry, Sawyer Huval, Stephan LeBlanc, Luke Pontiff, II, and Chris Hollier.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jevin Huval.

The family would like to also thank her sitters, Janet Melancon and Theresa Olivier, for the the love and care they gave to Alma.
