Alton Berard

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., on Friday, September 2, 2011 , at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Alton 'Tiff' Berard, 73, who passed away on Monday, August 29, 2011 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Fr. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Survivors include three brothers, Antoine 'Tan' Berard of Breaux Bridge, John C. 'J.C.' Berard of Cecilia, and Dr. Michael Berard of Lafayette; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amedie and Noelie Trahan Berard; two brothers, Allen 'Fromag' Berard and Stephen Berard; and his sister, Rose Berard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Allen Berard, Jr., Chuck E. Huval, Byron M. Berard, Glenwood A. Berard, Randall J. Berard and Dr. Michael Berard. Honorary pallbearers will be Antoine 'Tan' Berard, John C. 'J.C.' Berard, and Steven Caillier. The Berard family would like to thank all who have assisted Alton during various medical crises in his life as well as acknowledge those who cared for him during the most recent illness specifically Chuck Huval and the following medical and professional personnel, Dr. Hector Robles, Dr. Gene Brierre, Dr. Bradley Chastant, Dr. Andrew Hardwood, Dr. Frank Bacque and Dr. Jody Rosson along with the personnel at Lafayette General Medical Center Intensive Care Unit and STAT Home Health. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
