Arnaudville - Funeral services for Alvin J. Bozo Wright, 89, will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home in Arnaudville at 11 am on Tuesday December 22, 2015.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9 am and continue until time of service.
Mr. Wright was a retired farmer. He was a veteran of World War II, honorably serving his country in the United States Navy. During his enlistment period, he served on the Destroyer USS-Daly.
Mr. Wright passed away December 19, 2015 at the Louisiana War Veterans Home after a long bout with Alzheimers. He was born August 2, 1926 to Franklin R. and Ella Fruge Wright. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his son, Franklin Randy Wright of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Kathy Ortego and husband Karl of Lafayette; two granddaughters, Sarah Broussard and her husband Andr of Lafayette, and Jaime Colonel and husband Mike of Navarra, FL; two great granddaughters, Jaida and Adriana of Navarra, FL. He is also survived by a sister Mary Robin of Leonville; two faithful first cousins and their wives, Ed and Louise Wright of New Roads and George and Genny Wright of Austin, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 64 years, Louise Lastrapes Wright; his sisters, Laura Melancon and Marjorie Darby; three brothers-in-law Harold Melancon, Edwin Darby, and Jeff Robin; one nephew Patrick Darby; and two great nieces, Marcy Dauphine and Kylie Scrantz.
The family would like to thank all the friends and family for their support during his illness. They would especially like to thank the staff of the Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jackson, LA, for their compassion and wonderful loving care he was given during his stay.
