Parks - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Monday, January 28, 2013, at St. Louis Chapel in Parks, for Amelie Leon Nedie, 77, who passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in St. Martinville ;from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Sunday and continue at 8:00 am until 10:30 am on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Sunday. Rev. Stanley Jawa will officiate at the Funeral Mass. ;Scriptures will be read by Trey Thomas. Gift Bearers will be Corlaina Copper, Isaiah Thomas, and Chancelly James. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Saint Martinville. Amelie was a faithful member of St. Louis Chapel in Parks. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Leon (Allen Ray) Conner, Debra Leon (Troy L.) Gage, Cynthia Nedie (Charles) Lindon, Rose Nedie, Melissa Nedie (Wilfred) Thomas; her sons, Joseph Delcambre Nedie, Jr., Steven Nedie, David James Nedie; her sisters, Anna Lou Orphe, Marie Simon, Barbara Trahan, Jessie Leon, Dorothy Leon, Theresa Leon, Dianna White, and Linda Leon; her grandchildren, Michael Aubrey, Dwayne Nedie, Brandon Aubrey, Alaina Conner, Alicia S. Potier, Bradley Nedie, Kanisha J. Potier, Ashley Potier, Chancelly James, Trey Thomas, Isaiah Thomas, Chanda S. Potier; and her great-grandchildren, Amber Aubrey, Brison Aubrey, Sadarian Potier, Chance Aubrey, Gavin Aubrey, Caden Aubrey, Tyreonna Jacquet, D'Andre Vaughn, Corlaina Copper, Jarrick Nedie, and Chase Wiltz. She is preceded in death by her husband, Delcambre Nedie; her parents, Antoine and Mary Louise Dauphine Leon; her brother, Leroy Leon; and her sisters, Anna Mae Leon, Deanna Leon, Mary Alice Leon. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Nedie, Michael Aubrey, Allen Conner, Troy Gage, Charles Lindon, Wilfred Thomas, Joseph Delcambre Nedie, Jr., and Steven Nedie.
