St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 04, 2024 at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville for Ames J. Belaire, Jr., 60, who passed away on November 28, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. 

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

A rosary will be prayed at 1:00 PM on Wednesday by Dot Daspit.

 Fr. Bill Melancon will officiate at the funeral service. Readers will be Brielle Broussard and Angela Racca.

Burial will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum. 

Ames was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He spent his days in the vibrant community of Saint Martinville, where he shared his passions and built countless memories.

Ames dedicated much of his professional life as a parts salesman with generators, where he cultivated lasting relationships and a reputation for his unwavering work ethic. Beyond his career, he was a proud member of Cruising on the Coast, a testament to his love for camaraderie and fun. 

Ames had a zest for life that was evident in every moment he spent doing what he loved. He had a deep passion for car shows and hot rods, often spending his weekends showcasing his latest finds. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his enthusiasm for camping, cutting grass, and cooking over bonfires, where he gathered family and friends to share laughter and stories.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Belaire; son, Trent Belaire (Leah); daughter, Amber Belaire; grandchildren, Trinity Belaire, Cypress Belaire, Anne Marie Olivier, Amelia Claire Olivier, Alivia Arlene Olivier, and Quinn Genee Belaire.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ames and Monita Belaire; in-laws, Arline and Linton Hulin, Sr.; brother-in-law, Clinton Hulin; maternal grandparents, Marie and Horace Tabor, Sr.; and his paternal grandparents, Louis and Olive Belaire.

Pallbearers will be Trent Belaire, Brock Hulin, Leland Albert, Louis Prados, Leonard Champagne, Mike Melancon, Joey Lassiegne, Terry Theriot and Troy Buteau.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana for their compassion and care given to their loved one.
