Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Monday, April 2, 2012, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Ames Joseph Theriot, 64, who passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012, at his residence. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Aimye Theriot Dugas and Clint Theriot. Gift Bearers will be Dalaina, Trent and Brennon Dugas, Seth Verrett, Bailey and Jacques Theriot, Conner, Abigail and Olivia Carlson. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Ames was a member of Carpenters' Local 1098 as a commercial Superintendant of Construction. He was a member of The National Guard Armed Forces and an Honorary Member of Phi Kappa Theata and Coach. Nominee for Superintendant of the year for the State of Louisiana, regarding Historical Preservation of the Old State Capitol. He enjoyed horse racing, hunting, dancing, and loved his wife and children and was devoted to his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Helen Delahoussaye Theriot of Breaux Bridge; his son, Clint (Cassie Robin) Theriot; his two daughters, Aimye (Drew) Dugas of Loreauville, Alaina (Stephen) Carlson of Breaux Bridge; three brothers, Nolan (Genevieve) Theriot, Harold (Judy) Theriot, and William Theriot, Jr. all of Breaux Bridge; five sisters, Betty (Nolan) LeBlanc of Breaux Bridge, Rosie (Russell) Courville of Breaux Bridge, Joyce (Eugene Arnold) LeCompte of Arnaudville, Patsy Theriot of Breaux Bridge, Cherelle (John) Benoit of Breaux Bridge, his mother in law, Eunice Tauzin Delahoussaye; two brothers in law, Dean Delahoussaye and Jeffery Delahoussaye; his sister in law, Fay (Butch) Tucker of Breaux Bridge; nine grandchildren, Dalaina R. Dugas, Trent Drae' M. Dugas, and Brennon J. Dugas all of Loreauville, Seth Verrett, Bailey Theriot, Jacques Theriot, Conner P. Carlson, Abigail L. Carlson, and Olivia A. Carlson all of Breaux Bridge. He is preceded in death by his father, William Theriot, Sr.; mother, Edith Borel Theriot; and father in law, Lawrence Delahoussaye. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:30 am until 10:00 pm on Sunday and continue at 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Sunday. Pallbearers will be Clint Theriot, Drew Dugas, Stephen Carlson, Jonathan Dore', Harold Theriot, Sr., and Harold James "Jamie" Theriot, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl "Sonny" Hollier, Nolan Theriot, William Theriot, Jr., Dean Delahoussaye, Jeffery Delahoussaye, Butch Tucker, Jason Dore', Todd Theriot, David Jake Theriot, Jack Dale Courville, Bryan LeCompte, Robert Hollier, Charles "Charlie" Boudreaux, Jeremy Prejean, Hugh Champagne and Jeffery 'Calhoun' Wiltz.
