Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Amy Capritto Mouton, 31, who passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at her residence in Parks.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Fr. Edward Degeyter will conduct the services and Brother Rob Burdeaux will deliver the homily. Gift bearers for the service will be her husband and children. Gayle Landry and Gayle Guidry will serve as readers. Music will be provided by Patrick Melancon.
Amy was born in Lafayette and grew up in Parks, Louisiana. She graduated from Breaux Bridge High School in 1995 and attended UL, where she was enrolled in the Honors Program. She was a devoted wife, mother of 4 beautiful children, daughter and sister. She began home schooling her oldest child when he was four years old and continued teaching all her children until she passed away. She was gifted in arts and crafts. In her journey as a breast cancer survivor, she inspired and offered support to many people.
Survivors include her husband, Clinton J. Mouton; her children, Gabriel, Hannah, Micah, and Naomi Mouton; her parents, Rosario P. Capritto, Jr. and Mattie Calais Capritto, all of Parks; her sisters, Rachel Capritto of Parks and Maria Capritto of Lafayette; her sister-in-law, Sharia Mouton of Lafayette; her brother-in-law, Cody Mouton of Parks; her mother-in-law, Sheilla T Mouton and her companion, Elroy Grossie of Parks; her father-in-law, Clifford Bago Mouton of Breaux Bridge; her nieces and nephew, Abigail and Elisabeth Romero, Nathanael Sowell and Halli Lanclos.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Rosario P. Ross Capritto, Sr. and Lilly M. Picard Capritto, her maternal grandparents, J.N. and Esther Dugas Calais; and her uncle, Carrol Calais.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
A rosary and tribute to her life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Cody Mouton, Pat Capritto, Clifford Bago Mouton, Kelly Patin, Elroy Grossie and Todd Walker.
Honorary pallbearers will be Murrell Smith and Damien Guidry.
The family wishes to thank Dr. James Cole and his staff, Dr. Maitland Deland and her staff, the staff of Hospice of Acadiana, the 3rd floor and 5th floor staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, the staff of the Miles Perret Center and the Breast Cancer Survivor Group for their care and support to Amy and her family.
