Breaux Bridge A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am, on Friday, May 15, 2015, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Amydel "Mai-naus" Bossier Calais, 92, who passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Friday, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Friday.
Rev. Joseph Campion will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Dayanni Roberts and Ryan Calais.
Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.
Mrs. Calais was a devout Catholic whose faith in the good Lord never wavered. She loved reading her Bible, listening to music, and cooking and baking for her family. She was a very lovable woman with a heart of gold who loved being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she cherished.
She is survived by six sons, Dalton Calais, Clifton Calais, Nelton (Elizabeth) Calais, Alvin Calais, Ernest Calais, and William Bossier; three daughters, Armance Calais, Yola (Percy) Hamilton, and Amyola Calais; her sister, Irene Noel; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Armost Charles Bossier; her husband, Dennis Calais; a son, Felton Calais; six sisters, Cecile Ouzinne, Lucille Babineaux, Mary Griffen, Isabelle Simpson, "Toon" Francis, and "Goon" Davis; and two brothers, Alvin and Joseph Bossier.
Pallbearers will be Dalton Calais, Clifton Calais, Nelton Calais, Ernest Calais, Jeamelle Jones, Elvis Hamilton, and Robert Calais.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Calais, Jimmy Calais, and Casey Hamilton.
