Breaux Bridge - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Anaysha Sharay Calais, who left us on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the young age of 18. Born on June 1, 2006, Anaysha was a vibrant spirit who touched the lives of many. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, known for her infectious laughter and warm heart.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, March 6, 2025 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church honoring the life of Anaysha Sharay Calais.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Thursday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 AM on Thursday.
Rev. George Bede Ajuruchi, SSJ will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Miranda Calais and Megan Thomas. Gift bearers will be Laurie Nickens and Katlyn Nickens.
Anaysha was a dedicated student at Breaux Bridge Senior High School, where she was in the 12th grade. Her passion for life was evident in the joy she found in simple pleasures-talking on the phone with friends, creating TikTok videos, enjoying delicious seafood, particularly crawfish, listening to her favorite, Kevin Gates, and loved the color pink. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Anaysha is survived by her loving mother, Mayola Calais; her siblings, twin sister, Aylah Calais, Ryan Calais (Keri), Raven Brown, and Mya Brown; as well as her cherished nephews, Hunter Calais, Tyson Calais, Jordan Calais, Kai Xayden Maddox Calais, and Jay'lon Xion Calais; biological parents, Calvin Cerf and Barbara Lambert; biological grandmother, Gwendolyn Cerf; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She created lasting bonds with many friends who will forever remember her warmth and friendliness.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Dennis and Amydale Calais; uncles, Willie Bossier, Dalton Calais; and Felton Calais; aunt, Fabien Hardy; and niece, Maria Calais.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Calais, Robbie Calais, Aaron Babineaux, Elvis Hamilton, Tucumsee Dugas, Joshua Faulk, Dontravion Comeaux, and Jaqualen Landry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Calais, Tyson Calais, Johntravion Sparrow, Victravion Hebert, Percy Noel, and James Lewis.
