St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m., on Friday, November 18, 2011, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Andre Joseph Delahoussaye, 91, who passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at LTAC. Msgr. J. Douglas Courville will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Nicole Benintende and Kade Steiner. ; Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mr. Delahoussaye was a farmer for many years and was also retired from Martin Mills. He was a very honorable and lovable husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his daughter, Thelma Faucheaux and her husband, Ranell Lee, of St. Martinville; two sons, ;Marcel Delahoussaye, Sr. and his wife, Cheryl, and Larry Delahoussaye and his wife, Rosemary, all of St. Martinville; three sisters, Beatrice Babin of St. Martinville, Hilda Dohmann of St. Martinville, and Rena Huval of Breaux Bridge; two brothers, Dutel Delahoussaye of St. Martinville and Dudley Delahoussaye of Baker; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gerdie Comb Delahoussaye; his parents, Alexis and Natalie Landry Delahoussaye; three sisters, Lydia Huval, Emily Tauzin, and Maydell Landry; and his brother, Desire Delahoussaye. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, and continue on Friday at 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Bobby Benintende, Troy Faucheaux, Carl Fuselier, Marcel Delahoussaye, Jr., Kade Steiner, and Larry Champagne. The family would like to thank Dr. Jorge Belgodere, Liz Angelle - R.N., and the staff at LTAC, for the compassionate care and attention given to him during his illness.
