New Iberia – Private services will be held at a later date for Andrew Joseph Arcemont, Jr. 73, who passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
Andrew was born on April 30, 1950, in Morgan City, Louisiana to the late Andrew Arcemont, Sr. and Evelyn Dinger Lodrigue. Throughout his life, Andrew found solace and joy in his profession as a tugboat captain. His commitment to his work was evident in the way he navigated through the waters with expertise and precision.
When he wasn't captaining tugboats, Andrew loved nothing more than spending time on his houseboat surrounded by the calm waters. Fishing became one of his greatest pleasures as he cast his line into the depths of rivers and lakes, seeking excitement and relaxation.
An adventurer at heart, Andrew embraced life on two wheels as he roamed the open road astride his beloved Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The wind in his hair and the freedom of the highway brought him incomparable joy. He found solace in exploring new horizons, often sharing stories of his journeys with friends and loved ones upon his return.
Andrew leaves behind an enduring legacy. He is survived by six children, Guyla Bliss, Sheri Darby (Patrick), Paula Bowen (James), Jason Ribardi, Scott Aucoin (Shelly), and Eric Arcemont; sister, Eveline Carmello (Poncho); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Arcemont; brother, Anthony Arcemont; sister, Dianne Quebedeaux; and a grandson, Cody Toucheck.
Andrew’s spirit will forever sail on the waters, ride on open roads, and live within the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace.
