Angela received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. She was an elementary education teacher at Highland Baptist Christian School. She was an amazing teacher who filled her students with knowledge every day and inspired them to love Christ and to believe in themselves, as well. Her kindness, compassionate and caring heart, and love for her students was evident every day she walked onto the campus grounds.
Angela had previously worked as a teacher of the deaf in New York and with deaf churches in Louisiana. She also served as a missionary to deaf children in Puerto Rico.
She volunteered her time as a Bible study leader, Sunday school teacher, led a mentoring group for young mothers, and was a counselor at Acadian Baptist Center.
Angela was as genuine as the warmth of her smile, her exuberant laugh and her unfailing friendship. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, who was loved by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Joseph Erin Daly of St. Martinville; her sons, Andrew Nolan Daly and Aiden George Daly, both of St. Martinville; her parents, Nolan "Noonie" and Dolores "Dobie" Halphen Duplantis, of St. Martinville; her sister, Darlene Cormier of St. Martinville; and her brother, Nolan "Noonie" Duplantis, II and his wife, Tonya, of St. Martinville.
She was preceded in death by her brother, David Michael Duplantis.
Pallbearers will be Nolan "Noonie" Duplantis II, Ray Thibodeaux, Brad Felder, Jeff Martin, Micah Cormier, and Jonah Cormier.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be forwarded to The Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 1030 Johnston St., Lafayette, LA 70501 and will benefit Christian students in the Holy Land whom she loved and supported.
