Anisette Babin

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Anisette "Baboo" Babin, 102, who died Tuesday, May 22, 2006 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Fr. Austin Leger, pastor of St. Martin de Tours Church will be the Celebrant. Mr. Babin is a retired truck driver, having worked for the State Highway Department. He loved playing cards. Survivors include his sons, Roland Babin and his wife, Georgean of St. Martinville, and Teddy Babin of Cypress Island; his sister, Lucette Babin Hulin of Cypress Island; his grandchildren, Dirk Babin and wife Margot, Darren Babin and wife Shari, Dain Babin Latiolais and husband Aaron, Dale Babin, Chad Babin and wife Nicole, Toby Babin; 10 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sedonia Hulin Babin; sisters, Irene Hulin, Jeanne Laviolette, Lally Babin, Lucille Landry; brother, Laris "Bolo" Babin. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 PM on Tuesday and continue at 7:00 AM Wednesday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM Tuesday, May 23, 2006. Pallbearers will be Roland Babin, Teddy Babin, Dirk Babin, Chad Babin, Darren Babin, Dale Babin, and Dain Latiolais. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
