St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Anita Mae ""Neets"" James, 56, who died Monday, March 6, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Fr. Thomas Mullaly, Pastor of Notre Dame Catholic Church will conduct the funeral service, concelebrants will be Fr. Kelley and Fr. Thomas James.
Anita loved cooking and sewing and treasured spending quality time with family and friends.
Survivors include her brothers, Curtis James, Sr. and his wife, Rose of Lafayette, and Chris Christopher James of St. Martinville; her sisters, Helen Bourda of St. Martinville, Felicia Mercier and her husband, Walter of St. Martinville, Philomena James of Inglewood, CA, Joanne Pratt and her husband, Alexander, Jr. of St. Martinville, Myrtle St. Julien and her husband, Conrad, Sr. of Sugarland, TX, Althea James of St. Martinville, Carmella Marshall and her husband, Ed of Harvey, and Carmen James and her finance', Lincoln Wiltz, Jr. of St. Martinville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anita W. and Elias James, Sr.; her brother, Elias James, Jr.; and her brother-in-law, Joseph Bourda.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday and continue until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Pallbearers will be Curtis James, Sr., Chris Christopher James, David Mercier, Carl Pratt, Michael Mercier, Jason St. Julien, Steven Mercier, and Conrad St. Julien, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Mercier, Alexander Pratt, Jr., Ed Marshall, Conrad St. Julien, Sr., Johnny Bonin, Lincoln Wiltz, Jr., Nelton Robertson and Terrence Bourda.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
