Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Anita Lynn Richard, 54, who passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at her residence.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and will continue on Thursday from 10:00 am until time of service. 

Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the Memorial Service. 

Anita was born on December 29, 1969, in Rockford, IL. Anita grew up surrounded by the beauty of nature which nurtured her love for gardening. She had a special talent for finding four-leaf clovers, a symbol of luck that seemed to follow her wherever she went. Anita's eyes would light up with joy whenever she spotted one, and she shared this simple pleasure with those around her.
 
Anita's greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. She cherished every moment playing with them, reading stories, and showering them with love and affection. Her unconditional love knew no bounds, and her grandchildren will forever hold dear the memories they shared with their beloved grandmother.

Apart from her human family, Anita also had a deep love for animals, especially her cats. She found peace in their companionship and took great care of them as if they were her own children. Her home was always filled with warmth and purring sounds that brought comfort to all who entered.

She is survived by her husband, Kevin Richard; mother, Linda Manning Simpson; father, Michael Wayne Barnes (Gloria); son, Brian Markham (Jody); brother, Marcus Paul Simpson (Angelle) and his son, Hunter, daughter, Madison, and son, Clay; sister-in-law, Deborah K. Laughlin (Shawn); 3 grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Nina Joy Markham; step-father, Robert Wayne Simpson; brother, Matthew Wayne Barnes; and her maternal grandparents, Percy Larry and Lillian Loraine LeGauglt Manning.
