Anita "Suddie" Chevalier

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, June 24, 2022, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Anita "Suddie" Chevalier, 63, who passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022, at Lafayette General Medical Center.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, June 24, 2022, at Notre Dame Catholic Church.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 am on Friday.

Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Edward Chevalier, Sr.; daughters, Sybil Chevalier (Desmond) and Felicia Chevalier; son, Edward Chevalier, Jr.; sisters, Jeanette Wyatt (Rufus),  Serhania Mitchell (Norman), Catherine Berard (Shedrick), Barbara Neveu, and Lois Ledet (Otis); brothers, Tyrone Neveu and Earney Neveu, Sr.; grandchildren, Darrian Chevalier, Zoie Chevalier and Carter Chevalier; and her great-grandchild, Ace Chevalier.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Neveu and Inez Girouard Neveu; brother, Carl Neveu; sisters, Sybil Neveu and Elaine Neveu; and parents-in-law, Renella and Clifton Chevalier, Sr.

Pallbearers will be Eric Chevalier, Aaron Chevalier, Jeffrey Batiste, Sr., Angelo Neveu, Courtney Neveu and Terry Batiste, Sr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Chevalier, Sr., Edward Chevalier, Jr., Darrian Chevalier, Carter Chevalier, and Desmond Gims.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Hasan and his staff, as well as the staff at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center for their care and compassion.
