Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Anna Mae "Momit" Breaux , 87, who passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at her residence in Breaux Bridge.
Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 Mausoleum in Breaux Bridge.
Fr. Donald Pousson will conduct the services. Readers will be Jamie Barras and Karen Hebert. Gift Bearers will be Ashley, Shawn and Hope.
Momit, as she was fondly known to everyone, loved camping, family gatherings, gardening, playing with her cat, Baby Boy, sewing and cooking. Everyday was a holiday in her home. She was willing to go along with what everyone wanted to do. Momit will be sadly missed by all who had the opportunity of knowing and loving her. She was this beautiful person that never met a stranger in her life. Momit leaves her family so many beautiful memories that will be ever lasting in their hearts.
Survivors include her son, Donald Breaux of Breaux Bridge; her daughter, Wendy B. Babin and her husband, Jim of Lafayette, Judy B. Blanchard and her companion, Mike Sanders of Hammond, and Adeline B. Blanchard and her husband, Luke of Breaux Bridge; her brothers, Eugene Dore' and his wife, Verna Louise of Lafayette, and Willis P. Dore' and his wife, Rhona of Port Arthur, TX; her 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adley Breaux; her parents, Oscar and Marie Blanchard Dore'; her daughter, Sandra Dugas; her brothers, Lester Dore and Elie Dore, her sisters, Emiline Hebert and Bibian Poche; her great-grandson, Seth Hebert; and her daughter-in-law, Jean Nel Breaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2009 until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
Pallbearers will be Shannon Trahan, Coby Blanchard, Dane Babin, Lambert Landry, Jonathan Breaux and Ronnie Calais.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Barras, Jude Hebert and Blake Landry.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Acadiana and her nurse, Suzanne Stelly for the love, compassion and excellent care.
